This Khao Lak tour is for total elephant lovers, at Khao Lak Elephant Home — a small sanctuary a short drive from Khao Lak caring for rescued elephants, including several rescued from street begging in Bangkok. There’s no riding here, just real time with the herd.
Starting with feeding the elephants, keep your eyes peeled — you’ll see how intelligent they are, especially when there’s food around.
Then it’s down to the river for a mud spa and bathing session — a truly wonderful experience, one that will live with you forever. Here you’ll find a more social side to the elephants, with their playful and mischievous personalities coming out. Squirting water and splashing around are always a favourite.
Photo opportunities are plentiful throughout the day.
