Phang Nga Bay Day Trip

James Bond Island and More

James Bond Island, or Koh Tapu as we call it, is just one of many spectacular islands and vistas you will experience on my Phang Nga Bay Day Trip. Phang Nga Bay itself has around 100 islands, some small limestone karsts that jut out of the water, others towering up to form impressive cliffs topped with dense green foliage. The area covers around 400 square kilometres and is considered a must-see whilst visiting the Khao Lak area.

Of course such a hyped destination is going to draw some crowds, but on my private tour I’ll endeavour to visit the best spots at their quieter times and keep you away from the throngs of people visiting this iconic island.

After our James Bond experience we can get even closer to the impressive rocks and caves, with some time for kayaking in the bay, before we head to Koh Panyee for lunch. Koh Panyee is a huge granite island and forms the backdrop to the Muslim fishing village built on stilts where we’ll eat.

Next stop is the ancient painting cave, followed by a short walk up to the Samet Nangshe Viewpoint, where you can marvel at the view. This is a real highlight to end the day, as the sun starts to set over Phang Nga Bay — it’s simply breathtaking.
